Girls’ day out.

Note: I wrote a fucking lengthy entry that took me an hour, but then WordPress decided to error on me. The fucking Auto-Save option doesn’t work and I am THIS close to kicking the fucking laptop. I am officially pissed. !@#$%&*! So here’s my re-do, and hell no, I’m not gonna take an hour for this one.

The bestie, Adlina called me for a meet-up today. The girl’s pretty messed up about a few stuff, so what’s better than girl talk right?

And by girl talk, I mean hours of bitching about the opposite sex, why guns should be legalized and how exs should be wiped off the face of this earth.
I’m not joking.

We decided on having a sort of a mini-tour of Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 since the last time I went there, it was a rushed episode before picking up the Mr from work.

More shops have opened and I absolutely have got to try eating at Lerk Thai there. It looks far more cosy than the outlet at Civic Centre in Woodlands, hands down.

Met up with the Mr who was doing overtime (kumpul duit kawin ke, sayang?) for Swiss Air in the evening before we skipped away to Terminal 2’s Swensens for dinner.

Knowing this girl for 10 years, I’m pretty upset at hearing her pour out her heart’s content to me.
I hope everything works out for her. You know I’m always here for you girl.

The queue at Swensen’s was crazy; must have been because it was Mother’s Day.

Adlina picked her food rather quickly, it’s nice to know she actually felt famished despite her problems.

She had the Chicken Baked Rice, which according to the menu is “Tender fried breaded chicken baked over savory rice with cheese in white sauce.”
It must have been really good; she finished it while I was only halfway through my food of choice.

Had this based on Adlina’s recommendation.
I have to say I found it really really good.

“Whole crayfish, crabsticks and fish fillets in tangy tomato sauce.”

The crayfish was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
The fish fillet wasn’t dry at all.
The crabsticks were juicy.
And the tomato sauce was accompanied by a generous amount of sliced mushrooms.

What can I say? Now I have a new favourite item at Swensen’s!

Adlina felt like having some light dessert after that..

We shared some sherbet with marshmallow topping.

I’m not particularly fond of ice-cream or gelato (other than during my sudden cravings) so I found sherbet rather refreshing.
Reminded me of ice lollies when we were young.

I mean, we’re still young. Just back then, we were YOUNGER.

My parents had already reached home when I did (they went out together earlier in the day) and I found my mother in the kitchen baking pineapple tarts.

Like how random is baking pineapple tarts in the middle of the year?
I thought we only did it during Hari Raya AidilFitri.

I couldn’t help popping a few into my mouth the moment she took a fresh hot tray out of the oven.
Melting butter, ahhhh, such smells make me miss home when I’m away.

I bought my mum a big Cadbury-Crunchie bar because she absolutely LOVES chocolates (quite the opposite of me).
I plan to take the family and the Mr out for a nice dinner together at the end of the month when I get my first full paycheck from Northwest Airlines.

Anyway, happy Mother’s day, Ma.

You may be less than perfect in the eyes of others, but you’ll be the understanding, quirky, funny woman who’s never failed to give me that comforting hug every morning before I go to work or school.
That’s more than perfect to me.

P/S: Now you know which one of my parents I take after! That’s my mum when she was 19.
