What have I gotten myself into??

It’s been only TWO days since I stepped into the Reservations Training Room and already, I am horrified at what has been pushed in front of me to study.

[takes a minute to start thanking God for having finished studies]

I have this ultra thick manual (which I shall try to remember to take a picture of, tomorrow) to remember all the codes for accessing almost everything pertaining to NW’s system.
With the system, I can access almost anything in the world.

If you ever need a limo service in Guam, tell me.

The manual aside, I have to MEMORISE every single airport in the world that comes into contact with NW or its airlinks/airline partners. We’d be tested weekly, and at the end of the 8 weeks, in which we have to score above 80% everytime.

Considering there is only ONE NW flight out of Singapore at the moment, you’d probably think it shouldn’t be that many.

I would say only a FEW HUNDRED.

That stack of cards has the full city name and country code of every NW link that has an airport, followed by the airport code on the other side of the card. And some kiasu states have got two or three airports serving flights. (-_-)”

I promise to be so much more nicer to reservation staff on any airline I fly with from now on.
I used to be a very easy customer; I’d simply hand over my printed itinerary and happily accept any given seat or flight.

But now, I’ll even laminate the itinerary, and bring a bouquet of fresh flowers and chocolates to the staff serving me.
:(

Considering that I’m not that tall vertically-challenged, having a seat at the back of the class in the corner doesn’t help much, as the LCD monitor blocks me from the trainer hence getting ignored, despite me flailing my arms madly for help when I get stuck at a command.
I had to bloody stand, flail my arms like a drowning woman AND call out to get the trainer’s attention. :(

I haven’t had much appetite, having only lunch to sustain me the whole day, and coming home feeling feverish.
I feel fine at work, but I feel feverish the moment I step home.
Runny nose, itchy eyes, warm neck and forehead, the whole works.

But hey, at least two new colleagues made my day today.

Colleague 1: “Hey, weren’t you from Airport Security? You lost so much weight!”
Colleague 2: “You mean you’re not 18?!”
:D :D :D :D :D .. !!!!!!!”

I like them already.

When I reach home I feel like I’m really sick.
My mother thinks I’m making excuses to come home late! LOL
